Platonic Solids 3D Sacred Geometry Statement Necklace in Recycled Sterling Silver

In three-dimensional space, a Platonic solid is a regular, convex polyhedron consisting of congruent regular polygonal faces with the same number of faces meeting at every vertex. Five solids meet those criteria, and each is named after its number of faces. These include the tetrahedron, octahedron, hexahedron (cube), icosahedron, and dodecahedron. Geometers have studied the mathematical beauty and symmetry of the Platonic solids since ancient times. They are named for the ancient Greek philosopher Plato who theorized that the classical elements (earth, air, fire, and water) were made of these regular solids.

The necklace is made from Sterling SIlver, an alloy of silver and copper, using the lost wax casting process. On the metaphysical level, silver is reflective, like the moon and water, and is said to mirror the soul, bringing people calm and balance.

The Platonic Solids unisex necklace is finished with soldered 14g Sterling jumprings and 18" of sterling chain with a handmade triangular clasp (fourth photo). The chain also comes with an additional jumpring to shorten the chain length to 13.5". Length of Platonic Solids chain is approximately 4". We source our Sterling Silver from a local refinery who recycles precious metals from the local Silicon Valley e-waste stream. The necklace has been rotary tumbled to work harden and polish the silver. It ships via USPS priority mail.
