However, a recent resurgence in popularity has threatened some of the species used due to overharvesting, and as a result we have decided to begin offering our own alternatives using native plant species from here in Northern California.
Calocedrus decurrens, with the common names incense cedar and California incense-cedar, is a species of conifer in the cypress family native to western North America, from central western Oregon through most of California and the extreme west of Nevada, and also a short distance into northwest Mexico in northern Baja California. It grows aromatic foliage in flattened sprays, which have been gathered, and dried in bundles with red organic hemp twine. Simply burn and extinguish as you would with any other smoke cleansing bundle.
