Elettaria cardamomum, commonly known as green or true cardamom, is a herbaceous, perennial plant in the ginger family, native to southern India. It is the most common of the species whose seeds are used as a spice called cardamom. It is cultivated widely in tropical regions.
This necklace features a 1" x 0.375" x 0.375"/2.5cm x 1cm x 1cm pendant of a split open cardamom pod, showing the inner seeds, cast in solid recycled 925 silver, a traditional alloy of silver with a small amount of copper added for strength and durability, with a unique hexagonal bail and a 16" 925 silver chain with clasp.
